Black Moon Lilith (Mean Lilith)

Black Moon Lilith is calculated by averaging the positions of the Moon and the Earth's apogee, representing the focal point of the Moon's elliptical orbit around the Earth. In astrology, Black Moon Lilith is associated with primal instincts, taboo subjects, repressed desires, and the darker aspects of the subconscious mind. It signifies areas of life where one may experience power struggles, confront societal norms, or confront suppressed emotions. To learn from Black Moon Lilith in your natal chart, explore the house placement and aspects it makes with other planets. Pay attention to themes of empowerment, embracing authenticity, and confronting your shadow self.

True Lilith (Oscillating Lilith)

True Lilith is calculated based on the Moon's actual position in its orbit around the Earth, considering gravitational forces from other celestial bodies. It fluctuates more significantly over time compared to Black Moon Lilith. True Lilith shares similar themes as Black Moon Lilith, including the exploration of the shadow self, primal instincts, and sexuality. To understand True Lilith in your chart, observe its house placement and aspects, and reflect on areas of your life where you feel a strong urge for autonomy, authenticity, and liberation from societal constraints.

Dark Moon Lilith (Waldemath Lilith)

Dark Moon Lilith is a theoretical point derived from the Moon's orbit, taking into account its elliptical path and inclination relative to the Earth's equator. It represents themes of feminine power, rebellion against societal norms, and the exploration of the shadow self. While less commonly used in mainstream astrology, Dark Moon Lilith offers insights into areas of life where one seeks autonomy and authenticity. Study Your Lilith Placement

Identify the house placement and aspects of each Lilith point in your natal chart to gain insights into specific areas of your life influenced by Lilith's energy.

Check out my post on understanding your natal chart, where I summarize what areas of life pertain to each house in your chart.

Reflect on Themes

Reflect on recurring themes associated with Lilith, such as primal instincts, rebellion, sexuality, and the shadow self, to understand how they manifest in your life. When you notice these themes come up, in whatever way they do show up for you, simply make a note of it and then go back to it when you have time to do shadow work. This will help you find a way to empower yourself. For example, if you tend to be the black sheep in the family when it comes to religion, but you can never quite convey your views eloquently or find yourself in toxic arguments with people because of it, then it may have to do with not tapping into your Lilith placements. Understanding where Lilith is for you may help you understand why this is a struggle for you. Reflecting on this can help you overpower the struggle you may face.

Embrace Authenticity

Embrace the call for authenticity and liberation represented by Lilith in your chart. Explore areas where you may need to confront societal norms and embrace your true nature. In all of Lilith’s mythology, she was never one to shy away from embracing all aspects of herself and that’s what made her so powerful. She was feared because she could not be controlled or tamed by societal norms.
